💥 Why I Tell My Clients to Skip the Dealership & Go Straight to the Credit Union

The Pink Power CEO™ 💖🦋

🚗✨ Let’s get into it…

I know car dealerships look shiny, flashy, and convenient when you’re in the market for a new ride — but if you’re not careful, that “dream car” can quickly turn into a financial nightmare. 😩

I don’t tell my clients to avoid dealerships because I don’t like them… I tell them to avoid them because I know the game — and the game is rigged against people who don’t know better. 🎯

Here’s the truth:

When you walk into a dealership ready to buy, what happens next is called a “shotgun” on your credit file. That means the dealership blasts your information out to 10–30 different lenders trying to get you approved. Boom 💥— your credit report is now full of inquiries.

And guess what they’ll tell you?

“Oh don’t worry, it all counts as one.”

LIES.

I’ve been in this industry for decades and I’ve reviewed more credit reports than I can count. Thirty inquiries will absolutely hurt your credit score. Period. 📉

Instead, I tell my clients — go to your credit union first. 🏦 I personally love Navy Federal and have sent plenty of my family and clients there. Here’s why:

✅ One inquiry only
✅ Pre-approval with low interest rates
✅ No required down payment
✅ You walk in with a check ready to buy

That means you’re in control — not the F&I manager trying to hustle you for every dollar. 💼

When you’re pre-approved by your credit union, you stroll into that dealership like the boss you are. 💅🏽

And let me clear up another big myth:

When you put a down payment on a car at a dealership, that money doesn’t always get applied to the cost of the vehicle like you think it does. 😒

If your car is $50,000 and you put $5,000 down — your remaining balance may still be $50,000. That down payment? It may have just padded someone’s bonus check. 💸

This is the dirty truth they never disclose clearly in the contracts. It’s buried in legal jargon, and most folks never even see it coming. 🧾

Who does this hurt most?

🚫 People with bad credit
🚫 People in desperate situations
🚫 People living paycheck to paycheck
🚫 People who don’t read the fine print
🚫 People who just say “I don’t want my payment over $550”

These are the ones who can least afford to be victimized — and yet they’re the ones getting played the most. 😞

💡 Having great credit is not just about your score — it’s about owning your financial power.

When you have excellent credit, you call the shots.
When you don’t… you get violated by the system. 💔

So stop making emotional or urgent purchases with bad credit — it’ll cost you. Bad.

Before you go car shopping — get your credit in order!
